Dell's Latitude line is the business workhorse — the one to prefer refurbished, because it is built for durability and easy servicing. Consumer lines (like Inspiron) are lighter-duty; they can still be good buys, but Latitude is where ex-lease value concentrates. Model pages state the exact line, generation and specs.

Specs that matter

  • CPU — a recent-generation Intel Core i5 handles office work, browsing and study with ease; step up to i7 for heavier multitasking.
  • RAM — 8GB is the working minimum; 16GB is the comfortable choice if you keep many tabs and apps open.
