Dell Latitude 5520
The Latitude 5520 is Dell's large-screen mainstream business laptop, sold with either 10th Gen Intel Core i5/i7 or 11th Gen Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors. It is built for people who spend the whole day at a desk or docking station and want room to grow: the memory sits in two SO-DIMM slots that take up to 64 GB, and integrated-graphics versions have two M.2 slots for NVMe solid-state drives.
Connectivity depends on the processor generation
Every 5520 has two USB-A ports (one with PowerShare), a wired RJ45 Ethernet jack, a microSD reader and two USB-C ports that also take the Type-C power input. On 11th Gen machines those two USB-C ports are Thunderbolt 4 with USB4 and the HDMI port is HDMI 2.0; on 10th Gen machines they are Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 1.4. Some units also carry a smart card reader, a microSIM slot for the optional LTE module, or a fingerprint reader in the power button.
Who it suits
It suits office staff, accountants and anyone who lives in spreadsheets and video calls: there is a privacy shutter for the webcam, a keyboard that comes backlit or non-backlit depending on configuration, and a choice of 42 WHr or 63 WHr batteries. Dell lists a minimum weight of 1.59 kg.
Every refurbished Latitude 5520 comes with a 12-month warranty and a 15-day change-of-mind return window, and delivery is free anywhere in New Zealand with no minimum spend.
