Refurbished MacBook NZ – Air & Pro (11)

Listings updated .

Refurbished MacBook Air and Pro, tested and graded by our own technicians in Auckland — not drop-shipped. Every MacBook passes a full functional check (keyboard, trackpad, display, battery, ports, thermals) before listing, and the listing states its exact chip, RAM, storage, cosmetic grade and battery health.

A refurbished MacBook is one of the best-value ways into the Apple ecosystem: the aluminium build and macOS longevity mean a machine a few years old still feels premium and still gets updates. Not sure which one? Read on below, or browse all refurbished laptops if you're comparing brands.

Air or Pro?

MacBook Air is the pick for study, writing, browsing and travel — thin, light, silent (fanless on recent models) and with all-day battery life. MacBook Pro earns its extra weight when you push sustained workloads: video editing, music production, compiling, heavy multitasking. If you mostly live in a browser and documents, an Air will feel identical to a Pro — for less money.

Apple Silicon vs Intel

Apple's own chips (M1 onwards, from late 2020) brought a major jump in speed and battery life, and macOS support for Intel machines is winding down. Our advice: prefer Apple Silicon if your budget allows — it is the safer long-term buy. An Intel MacBook still makes a capable budget machine for lighter use; just weigh the lower price against a shorter remaining update horizon. Each model page states the chip clearly.

How much RAM and storage?

8GB RAM / 256GB storage is comfortable for study and office work on Apple Silicon. Choose 16GB if you run heavy multitasking, virtual machines or creative apps, and 512GB+ if you store large photo or video libraries locally rather than in the cloud.

How we refurbish every MacBook

Each MacBook is tested by our Auckland technicians across keyboard, trackpad, display, speakers, camera, all ports, Wi-Fi, battery health and thermals. Machines are wiped, reinstalled with a clean macOS, graded for cosmetic condition (see the Condition Guide) and photographed. Every one ships with a 12-month warranty, a 15-day change-of-mind window and free NZ-wide delivery from Auckland.

Frequently asked questions about refurbished MacBook

How long do refurbished MacBooks last?

MacBooks are among the longest-lived laptops made; with macOS support spanning many years per model, a refurbished MacBook typically has years of updates and daily use ahead of it. The 12-month warranty covers functional faults.

Do refurbished MacBooks come with the original charger?

A compatible charger is included. Original Apple boxes and accessories are generally not included unless stated in the listing.

Can I still get software updates?

Yes. Update support comes from Apple and depends on the model year, not on the machine being refurbished — Apple Silicon models have the longest runway. The model page states the chip and year.

What do the condition grades mean?

Grades describe cosmetic appearance only — every device is fully tested and 100% functional. Like New looks pristine, Very Good has barely visible micro scratches, Good shows honest signs of use. Full definitions in our Condition Guide.

What warranty do I get?

Every device comes with a 12-month return-to-base warranty covering functional faults. If anything goes wrong, we repair or replace it — see our Returns & Warranty Policy.

How fast is delivery in New Zealand?
