Apple Watch Buying Guide: Which Series Is Right for You?
Apple Watches are ideal refurbished buys: they live under sleeves, age well, and the year-to-year changes are small enough that last year's model does 95% of what the new one does — for far less.
Apple Watch SE: the value pick
Notifications, fitness tracking, heart rate, fall detection. If you want a smartwatch rather than a health lab, the SE covers it at the lowest price.
Series 6–8: the health suite
Always-on display plus ECG and blood-oxygen sensors. Series 7 and 8 add bigger screens and faster charging. For most buyers a refurbished Series 7 or 8 is the sweet spot between features and price.
Sizing and compatibility
- 40/41mm suits smaller wrists; 44/45mm gives a bigger display
- Any Apple Watch pairs with any recent iPhone — but not with Android
- Bands are universal within size classes, so cheap third-party bands fit fine
What we check
Every refurbished watch is tested for sensors, battery, buttons and water-seal integrity, then graded — see the Condition Guide. All carry the same 12-month warranty as our phones.
